Saving Water: 11 Steps to do it with Tap Aerator

Water is one of the most important things we need for survival. It's also a resource that is becoming increasingly scarce, so it behooves us to learn how to conserve water. Here are 11 ways you can save water with tap aerator and still have your home looking great!

  • Turn Off Your Faucet: If you notice your tap water dripping, turn off the faucet. This may help stop a slow leak and save up to five litres of water per day!

  • Install A Tap Aerator: Installing an aerator on your shower head can also greatly improve how much time it takes for the hot or cold water to reach you while using less. The best part is that they are easy to install with zero tools needed! Just unscrew the old showerhead from its base (or remove if this isn't possible) then screw in a new one—that's all there is too it.

  • Repair Leaks Quickly And Easily: When leaks occur, don't wait to fix them. A leaky faucet can waste up to 200 litres of water per day!

  • Fix Dripping Toilets: It may seem strange but toilets are one of the highest sources for leaks in your home, which can not only be wasteful, they will cost you money on a monthly basis due to increased utility bills.

  • Keep Your Shower Short: When taking showering short, it saves up to 150 litres of water per ten minute session. Plus if people take shorter showers there would be less demand for hot water during winter months when energy costs are generally higher - this could save homeowners as much as Rs.15,000 annually on their heating bill!

  • Clean Up After Yourself In The Kitchen And Bathroom: When doing your dishes, don't let the water run down the drain. Instead turn on just enough to wash and rinse them off (you can also use a dishwasher if you have one). Same goes for washing hands - make sure not to leave the tap running!

  • Change Your Clothes: If dryers are used instead of line drying clothes then more than 300 litres of hot water is consumed per day. Using an electric or gas dryer will cost a lot in electricity annually which could be better spent elsewhere.

  • Wash Dishes By Hand For Fun And Profit: While this may seem like it takes longer, when done by hand with only cold (or lukewarm) water and no detergent washed dishes require less water and less soap—which saves money in the long run.

  • Use A Bucket Instead Of The Shower: If you are taking a shower for an extended period of time, fill up a bucket halfway with hot water then pour it over yourself to rinse off after soaps have been applied.

  • Take Your Dog Outside To Bath It: Dogs can actually be washed outside without using any water at all! Just use a hose or buckets filled with fresh clean tap water from the garden hose and scrub them down as needed until they're nice and clean. By doing this, no bathtub is ever used which would save hundreds of litres per year that could have gone into our sewer systems instead."

"Water conservation products should be an important consideration for everyone. Even if you don't live in an area that has shortages of water, it's important to remember conservation is a worthwhile effort and will help ensure we always have enough potable water."
